‘This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.’ -John 15:12
All of us, whether we are young or elderly, housebound, bereaved, single, or part of a family, can face changes and challenges in life which can bring both sorrow as well as joy. The Church is called to show the love of God in all of life’s seasons. Our pastoral care ministry offers a hand of friendship, a listening ear and spiritual and emotional support. Where appropriate this care may include the ministry of Holy Communion at home or in hospital, or our rector or another member of our clergy team may bring holy oil for anointing and prayer for healing. Our rector and clergy team also offer the sacrament of reconciliation, or, for the dying, the last rites. Visits to peoples homes are also largely undertaken by the clergy team at St Paul’s as well as members of the congregation trained to bring Holy Communion, or simply to offer a listening ear. We also are privileged to conduct services and visits to local Residential Care and Nursing Homes , and we also regularly undertake visits to St. Richard’s Hospital in Chichester when requested to do so.
If you would like to speak with someone, or request a visit, including receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion, please contact the Church office on 01243 533403 | Email – office@stpaulschichester.org, or the Rector, Canon Paul Doick on 01243 306043 | Email – rector@stpaulschichester.org.
If you feel that you need someone to talk to, and that might best be in more formal setting of counselling, we work with the Confide counselling service, details of which can be found HERE
